UI/PHP Web Developer- Small Growing Funded Startup Venture

Early Stage, well funded startup is looking for a PHP, Web UI Engineer. This person will help lead the UI development effort and contribute on server-side development as well. Because the company is small and growing quickly, there is ample opportunity for advancement and for you to put your stamp on the look and feel of the company’s products. My client is developing web-based applications in an emerging market. They have taken a small amount of funding and are already profitable, after only having been in business for 1 year. This is an incredible opportunity.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong web based UI development background.
• Experience developing web-based UIs using JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
• Experience with jQuery (or another JavaScript framework).
• Any experience with PHP or similar languages
• Experience with MySQL and the data tier is a plus
• Experience with end-to-end development is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This is a FULL-TIME role. No Contractors or Design firms, etc.

Senior/Principal Software Engineers- Server-Side Java

Come work and learn from a brilliant team of engineers and get exposed to really interesting and complex problems. Work on challenging server-side systems while learning and working on search based applications (mobile, web, and desktop based search). These systems will churn through enormous data sets and will have to deal with the unique challenge of serving up info to mobile users (as well as web users). You will also get the opportunity to learn python and mobile technologies. You will work with solr/lucene, spring, etc. Also, there is ample opportunity to grow and progress in your career.

Skills & Experience-

• A BS or MS in Computer Science
• Ideally, 7-10+ yrs of professional software development experience
• Professional Java development experience is required
• Strong server-side development experience
• Experience building complex systems
• Knowledge of multi-threading

Not required, but nice to have-

• Spring
• Strong distributed systems experience
• Solr/Lucence

Exciting, Ground Breaking Consumer Startup- Ruby On Rails (Would Consider Java, Python, Or .NET)

Are you a talented Engineer with experience developing in Java, Python, Ruby, or similar? Do you enjoy learning new technologies? Are you interested in working on a small team with talented engineers? Are you interested in using and learning Ruby on Rails?

My client is a well funded 20 person start-up developing B2B and B2C applications that are at the forefront of an entirely new market. They are poised to reach 100 million visitors / month by the end of the summer (currently they are reaching 50-60 million). They have a small Agile team that is very supportive and engineers are given ample room and responsibility and have enormous control over the architecture. They are using RoR currently and are open to training someone as long as the right background, attitude, and aptitude is present.

Skills and Experience: 

• Bachelors of Masters Degree in Computer Science or similar
• 2-10+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with web development (Javascript, HTML, Web Services, etc)
• Experience with either Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, or similar
• Strong Object Oriented programming background and experience.
• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL or similar.
• Linux.
• Any Open Source experience or personal project development in Ruby or related is great experience and will be strongly considered.
• Prior experience at a start-up
• Any experience developing consumer facing software is a plus!
